NFL Week 9 Prop Bets
Week 9 of the NFL season is upon us, and with it comes more opportunities to cash in on player props. Here are my favorite bets for this week:
Emanuel Wilson Over 30.5 Rushing Yards vs. Carolina Panthers
Last week, Wilson saw an increase in usage with starting running back Josh Jacobs nursing a calf injury. Although Jacobs had two more rush attempts than Wilson, the latter was far more productive, outgaining Jacobs 61 to 33.
Jacobs’ injury seems to be a little worse than the team is letting on, and he shouldn’t be needed against a Panthers team the Packers should have no trouble putting away.
With Wilson already seeing increased volume and the potential of even more added work due to a blowout, take him to hit his over against a team who surrendered 245 rushing yards last week against the Bills.
Aaron Rodgers Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Steelers signed Rodgers during the offseason hoping to fill their three-year void at quarterback, and he’s flourished in the Steel City. The future Hall of Famer ranks second in the league in touchdown passes (16), and he has a higher QBR than Patrick Mahomes this season.
The Colts’ defense has struggled against the pass this season, allowing the 10th most passing touchdowns in the league with 14. Also helping Rodgers’ case is his own defense, as Pittsburgh gives up 25 points per game, ninth most in the NFL.
With both defenses struggling heading into Week 9, this game could easily turn into a shootout. Rodgers should have no problem throwing two touchdown passes on Sunday.
Kimani Vidal Over 77.5 Rushing Yards vs. Tennessee Titans
In three games without starting running back Omarion Hampton, Vidal has rushed for over 100 yards twice, with the exception coming during a loss to the Colts where the Chargers trailed by 20 three separate times.
Not only does Tennessee’s defense rank 26th in the NFL with 142.6 rush yards allowed per game, but they just aren’t a good team overall. Los Angeles should have no problem disposing of the Titans early, presenting Vidal an opportunity for more carries to run out the clock.
Take Vidal to rush for at least 78 yards with confidence.
Tyler Warren Over 56.5 Receiving Yards vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Since the Colts selected him with the 14th overall pick in April, Warren has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL. He leads all tight ends in receiving yards (492) and 20+ yard receptions (8), and ranks fifth in both targets (50) and receptions (37).
The Steelers defense has given up the third-most receiving yards to the tight end position this year, and just last week they let Tucker Kraft explode for 143 yards on seven catches.
Warren is in a great spot to keep his outstanding rookie season going and take advantage of a defense struggling to defend his position. His over should be locked into any slips you place this week.
